Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy at Quality Physical Therapy is focused on one central question: what does this patient need to be able to do again? Where physical therapy often centers on movement and mobility broadly, occupational therapy zeroes in on the specific tasks of daily life and work that an injury, surgery, or condition has taken away — from getting dressed and cooking to typing, lifting, or operating tools on the job.

Our occupational therapists work closely with patients recovering from hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder injuries, as well as those managing the aftereffects of stroke, surgery, or chronic conditions that limit fine motor control and upper-extremity strength. Treatment might include therapeutic exercise, splinting guidance, adaptive strategies for daily tasks, and structured programs to rebuild the coordination and endurance needed for work and independent living.

For many patients, occupational therapy is the bridge between clinical recovery and real life. It’s not enough to regain strength in isolation — you need to be able to use that strength to open a jar, carry groceries, return to a physically demanding job, or care for your family without pain or fear of re-injury. Our team builds that bridge deliberately, tracking functional milestones alongside clinical ones so progress is measurable and meaningful.

Because Quality Physical Therapy also has deep experience with workers’ compensation cases, our occupational therapy services are especially well suited to injured employees working toward a safe, sustainable return to their job duties. We coordinate with physicians, case managers, and employers when needed, and we keep documentation clear and thorough throughout. If a hand injury, upper-extremity limitation, or loss of everyday function is affecting your independence, we’re ready to help you rebuild it, one practical skill at a time.
